Friday School at Sewanee Elementary continued this week. Student Chemistry Club Members taught K-2 students about polymers. Sydney Jackson, Sara Parks, Cid Oculam, Katie Wayne and Professor Seballos showed the kids how to extract sodium polyacrylate from diapers and investigate its amazing ability to make water disappear. The students then got to make their own polymers that they could take home. The end product looked a bit like slime.
