Robert Bachman, F. B. Williams Professor of Chemistry, re-elected as a councilor

Robert Bachman, F. B. Williams Professor of Chemistry, was re-elected to his third three-year term as a Councilor for the Chemistry Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR).  In addition to serving as a Councilor, Bachman serves as the Chair of the Nominations Committee for the Council and as a member of the Nominations Vetting Committee.  He has worked with CUR to advance collaborative student-faculty research both locally on campus and nationally through a variety of endeavors including acting as a facilitator for workshops and organizing a variety of presentation opportunities for students on and off-campus.

Founded in 1978, CUR is a grassroots national organization whose mission is to support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship. Comprising both dues-paying individual and institutional members, CUR represents over 900 colleges and universities and hosts an annual undergraduate research poster session on Capitol Hill (which Bachman and his research students have been part of twice) produces a quarterly journal, and provides special Institutes on undergraduate research and faculty development as well as a bi-annual national conference.
